    Graphics Technology 2
    Monday - Students will complete projects in the three different project areas of multimedia, sign and laser, and screen printing. Each group will complete individual projects in their assigned area and have 12 days to complete them. Day 8 of the 12 day project rotation.
    Tuesday - Day 9 of the 12 day project rotation.
    Wednesday - Day 10 of the 12 day project rotation.
    Thursday - Day 11 of the 12 day project rotation.

    Graphics Technology 1
    Monday - Finish going over screen printing terms and give a brief, screen printing demonstration.
    Tuesday - Discuss screen printing designs and assign groups.
    Wednesday - Scoop coating demonstration. Students will scoop coat their screens and work on their designs.
    Thursday - Complete scoop coating and work on designs.
    Friday - Demonstrate how to print a positive. Students can begin making their group positive.


    Robotics Technology 2
    Monday - Wednesday - Continue the unit on force and torque. Students will complete practice problems.
    Thursday - Friday - Begin unit on the center of mass and statics. Students will complete practice problems.

    Physical Technology
    Monday - Friday - Students will begin hands on safety tests on machines to date and complete safety worksheets.

    Robotics Technology 2
    Monday - Complete Web Quest on the simple machines.
    Tuesday - Discuss the simple machines and how they work.
    Wednesday - Friday - Each student will be assigned a simple machine and create a working model using VEX parts. They will present them on class on Friday or Monday.

    Graphics Technology 1
    Monday - Discuss how ISO, shutter speed and aperture are related in digital cameras.
    Tuesday - Friday - Students will work on their Digital Photography project following the provided design brief. Students will complete their movie poster/wanted poster digital photography project.

    Graphics Technology 2
    Monday - Tuesday - Discuss the term assignment for review of projects from the first graphics class.
    Wednesday - Choose groups for the three different project areas of multimedia, sign and laser, and screen printing. Each group will complete individual projects in their assigned are and have 12 days to complete them.

    Last day of the class. Students will disassemble their robots and discuss the class.

    Thursday - Initial knowledge assessment and Robotics 1 review.

    Thursday - Friday - Identify, describe and apply the Universal Systems Model and the Problem Solving Method. Includes class activity on Thursday and Friday. Review for Monday's quiz.

    Robotics Technology
    Monday - Tuesday - Students will compete in the mine removal challenge. Their robots must have a 20 second autonomous period and a 1 minute and 40 second driver control period. Students must incorporate all programming types and they can slightly modify their robot. They must use the Engineering process to complete this project.
    Wednesday - Review for final knowledge check.
    Thursday - Friday - Core Exam days. Students will disassemble their robots and continue the review.

    Graphics Technology 1
    Monday - Students will finish editing their commercials and export the final video for evaluation.
    Tuesday - Wednesday - Students projects will be evaluated.
    Thursday - Friday - Core Exam days. Students will complete a subject performance assessment.

    Physical Technology
    Monday - Evaluate data recorded from the planes.
    Tuesday - Review for the quiz on airplanes.
    Wednesday - Quiz on the airplane parts and principles.
    Thursday - Friday - Core Exam days. Students will review for a final subject performance assessment.


    1-2-12 to 2-6-12

    Robotics Technology
    Monday - Friday - Students will continue working on their robots to compete in the mine removal challenge.     Thursday - Friday - Final glider tests will be completed and calculations will be made with the data that has been collected from the tests.


    12-19-11 to 12-23-11

    Robotics Technology
    Monday - Tuesday - Students will continue using functions to complete their labyrinth activity.
    Wednesday - Thursday - Students will begin using and programming the sonar sensor.
    Friday - Christmas Break.

    Graphics Technology 1
    Monday - Demonstrate digital photo editing and answer questions on the digital photography project.
    Tuesday - Thursday - Students will put into groups and plan their video and digital photography projects. They will also continue work on their vinyl and laser projects.
    Friday - Christmas Break.


    Physical Technology
    Monday - Review for the boat hull test and begin airplanes web quest.
    Tuesday - Quiz on boat hulls and finish web quest on airplanes.
    Wednesday - Thursday - Students will build balsa airplanes and complete the Whitewings activity.
    Friday - Christmas Break.


    12-12-11 to 12-16-11

    Robotics Technology
    Monday - Tuesday - Students will program encoders in order to control the robots movement by making it drive perfectly straight.
    Wednesday - Friday - Students will begin using functions to make more efficient programs for their robot.


    Graphics Technology 1
    Monday - Students will complete the digital video and photography web quest.
    Tuesday - Friday - Students will put into groups and plan their video and digital photography projects. They will also continue work on their vinyl and laser projects.


    Physical Technology
    Monday - Wednesday - Finish wiring the boat hulls following the wiring diagram.
    Thursday - Friday -Test the boat hulls and use the engineering process to make modifications for final testing.



    12-5-11 to 12-9-11

    Robotics Technology
    Monday - Students will finish controlling the robot arm movement with a limit switch and potentiometer using if-else statements.
    Tuesday - Wednesday - Students will apply variables in programming in order to make their robot arm "smarter."
    Thursday - Friday - Students will program encoders in order to control the robots movement by making it drive perfectly straight.

    Graphics Technology 1
    Monday - Wednesday - Students will continue creating projects using the laser cutter/engraver and the vinyl cutter. They will also work with a laser and optical elements to complete a laser maze.
    Thursday - Friday - Students will complete a web quest on optics and cameras.

    Physical Technology
    Monday - Friday - Students will wire, solder, and build a circuit to light up and power their boat hulls.




    11-28-11 to 12-2-11

    Robotics Technology
    Monday - Thanksgiving Break.
    Tuesday - Wednesday - Students will participate in the mine removal challenge with their robots.
    Thursday - Friday - Students will work on turning their robot arm into a smart arm by configuring and programming sensors.

    Graphics Technology 1
    Monday - Thanksgiving Break.
    Tuesday - Friday - Students will continue creating projects using the laser cutter/engraver and the vinyl cutter. They will also work with a laser and optical elements to complete a laser maze.

    Physical Technology
    Monday - Thanksgiving Break.
    Tuesday - Students will complete the web quest on basic electricity.
    Wednesday - Review web quest and begin modifying their boat hulls to accommodate the motor, battery, LED's, and circuitry.
    Thursday - Complete the wiring of their boat hull.
    Friday - Test their modified hulls with the motors and circuitry.


    11-21-11 to 11-25-11

    Robotics Technology
    Monday - Wednesday - Students will learn to program their robot arm to work more controlled through class exercises.
    Thursday - Friday - Thanksgiving Break.

    Graphics Technology 1
    Monday - Wednesday - Students will cut and engrave their designs on the laser and vinyl machines.
    Thursday - Friday - Thanksgiving Break.

    Physical Technology
    Monday - Wednesday - Students will test their boat hull designs in a hot water tank and a cold water tank and collect data that will be analyzed.
    Thursday - Friday - Thanksgiving Break.



    11-14-11 to 11-18-11

    Robotics Technology
    Monday - Tuesday - Review and apply the while loop and practice using radio control and competing in the Robo-Slalom activity.
    Wednesday - Students will apply timers to the while loop to control the program.

    Thursday - Students will program the buttons on the radio controller for a remote button start for their robot.
    Friday - Students will program the robot to control the arm.


    Graphics Technology 1
    Monday - Tuesday - Students will continue working on their Laser designs while small groups will be watching a demonstration on the vinyl cutting machine.
    Wednesday - Friday - Students will cut and engrave their designs on the laser and vinyl machines.

    Physical Technology
    Monday - Students will finish reviewing the boat hull activity design brief and web quest. Also begin hull design sketches.
    Tuesday - Wednesday - Students will begin constructing and shaping their boat hull.
    Thursday - Friday - Students can begin testing and continue modifying their design to improve efficiency.

    11-7-11 to 11-11-11

    Robotics Technology
    Monday - Students will program Recbot to move forward and reverse, turn right and left, autonomously using time in RobotC.
    Tuesday - In-Service.
    Wednesday -
    Introduce control mapping and apply it to radio controlling Recbot.
    Thursday - Friday - Practice using radio control and competing in the Robo-Slalom activity.


    Graphics Technology 1
    Monday - Students will finish their package design, print, cut, and assemble it for evaluation.
    Tuesday - In-Service.
    Wednesday - Introduce the sign making and laser cutting/engraving projects.
    Thursday - Demonstrate the laser cut/engrave activity.
    Friday - Demonstrate the sign making activity.

    Physical Technology
    Monday - Students will calculate work and horsepower from the data they collected from their mousetrap vehicle trials.
    Tuesday - In-Service.
    Wednesday - Recorded data will be analyzed and compared. Conclusions will be drawn and the project will be discussed as to how the student would have done it differently.
    Thursday - Friday - Introduction of the boat hull activity. Web quest of terminology and review project parameters.


    10-31-11 to 11-4-11

    Robotics Technology
    Monday - Students will finish building Recbot correctly by following assembly directions including hardware, motors, and sensors..
    Tuesday - Friday

    Monday - Thursday - Students will build Recbot for PIC by following assembly directions including hardware, motors, and sensors.
    Friday - Begin programming Recbot movement using RobotC.

    Monday - Test on Principles and Elements of Design, Color, and Typography.
    Tuesday - Demonstrate Package design project using illustrator.
    Wednesday -
    Friday - Students will create their package design using illustrator and following parameters given by the instructor.

    Physical Technology
    Monday - Thursday - Students will construct their mousetrap car design using the engineering design process.
    Friday -
    Continue mousetrap vehicle designs and begin testing.


    10-17-11 to 10-21-11

    Robotics Technology
    Monday - Thursday - Students will program sensors and motors using RobotC programming language. Students will use RobotC Natural Language to test a quaduature encoder, light sensor and a sonar sensor.
    Friday - Students will disassemble the test bed and begin building Recbot.

    Graphics Technology 1
    Monday - Finish research on the Design Principles, Elements and the anatomy of text.
    Tuesday - Wednesday - Class discussion on the Design Principles, Elements and the anatomy of text.
    Thursday - Friday - Research and discuss the color wheel and different types and uses of complimentary designs.

    Monday - Machine safety tests and mousetrap vehicle design.
    Tuesday - Thursday - Students will construct their mousetrap car design using the engineering design process.

    Monday - Wednesday - Students will present their assigned research project.
    Thursday - Students will learn to launch RobotC and download firmware to the PIC controller on the test bed.

    Students will begin review programming rules and basic syntax using simple programming language.

    Monday - Students will turn in their web quest assignment and finish working on their button design.
    Tuesday - Thursday - Students will discuss and review their web quest information and the basics of how electronic devices work.

    Finish the web quest discussion and review all information for Mondays test.

    Monday - Students will turn in their web quest activity and continue working on their wind sail vehicle.
    Tuesday - Wednesday - Students will continue working on their wind sail vehicle.

    Monday - Friday - Students will be working with a partner on research and presentation project. Each group was assigned a topic area and have a series of questions they have to research to present next Monday. Their presentation can be in the form of a video, slide show, poster, etc. All work must be cited. *See assignment sheet.

    Monday - Friday - Students will complete a web quest that includes terms and extensive questions about computers and electronic devices. All research must be typed and cited.     Monday - Review Measurement Test. Demonstrate Planet h99 robotics online simulator.
    Tuesday - Discuss classroom procedures using robotic parts. Also, identify and describe different robotics parts and what they are used for.
    Wednesday -
    The students will follow assembly directions and construct the robotics test bed.
    Thursday - The students will follow assembly directions and complete the test bed.
    Friday -
    Students will be put into groups and will discuss robotics research activity requirements. Presentations due: 9-26-11.

    Graphics Technology 1
    Monday - Review Measurement Test. Discuss message transfer.
    Tuesday - Demonstrate Mac OS and software. Demonstrate button layout, clip art retrieval and artwork downloads.
    Wednesday - Continue work on button project. Demonstrate printing and button assembly.
    Thursday - Complete button project and review software procedures covered.
    Friday -
    Students will be assigned their computer web quest activity and research project. Project is due 9-23-11.

    Physical Technology
    Monday - Review Measurement Test. Begin Wind Sail activity. Discuss Design brief and procedures.
    Tuesday - Demonstrate tools and materials need for the Wind Sail Activity. Begin designs.
    Wednesday - Thursday - Students will continue work on their wind sail car. Testing can begin.
    Friday -
    Students will be assigned their transportation web quest activity and research project. Project is due 9-23-11.


    9-5-11 to 9-9-11

    Monday - Labor Day.
    Tuesday - First benchmark assessment of three.
    Wednesday - Thursday - Review standard and metric measurement to the 1/16" and 1/2 millimeter. Measurement activities online and in class.
    Friday - Test on measurement to the nearest 1/16" and 1/2 millimeter.



    8-30-11 to 9-2-11
