Reading

Monday, May 23rd- Begin black and white Titanic packet. Have students either read in pairs and then discuss later as a class or complete as a class.

Tuesday, May 24th- Begin to read the Titanic "Scope" magazines. These are not mine, they are Miss Popovich's so the students must be EXTREMELY careful with these!! These need to be turned into her when finished as well. This should be done as a class. A few students may have to share because there are not enough for everyone to get their own.

Wednesday, May 25th- Finish reading the Scope magazines as a class.

Thursday, May 26th- Finish watching The Chronicles of Narnia. If time, begin The Boy in the Striped Pajamas movie. This movie took place during the Holocost. We read Number the Stars in class and this movie describes some of the hardships that Jewish people, who were present in the novel Number the Stars as well, had to endure.

Friday, May 27th- The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

Monday/Tuesday-No school

Wednesday, June 1- Watch the Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Complete Extra work if needed.

Thursday, June 2- Extra work/ study hall / play games!

* Movies will be viewed throughout the rest of the year. I would like the students to reflect on the differences and comparisons they have found in the movies, novels, or plays that they have seen with our novels. These are mostly being showed at the end of the year because we wanted to squeeze in as many novels and vocabulary as possible during the school year.

As you prepare for 7th grade, please ask if you would like anything else throughout the rest of this school year, or summer practice. PLEASE ASK! I would be more than happy to prepare something for you!

**If you practice re- reading the selection for fluency and comprehension, you will be in good shape...it could be a resolution to get A's on all Reading tests..since the answers are all right in front of you when you read, you just need to become a strategic reader!
