BUSINESS PLAN: Client and Designer Unit
The students will be paired up with another student to play both roles of the student designer as well as the owner of a fake business in need of designing skills to propel their new business adventure.

The student will also be responsible for seeking out a business/adult in need of design help with a logo, business cards, etc. The students will create their own 'calling card' for business to hand out and acquire the client to work for.

ADULT CLIENTS ARE TO BE ASSIGNED BY WEDNESDAY, FEB. 8TH


FINISH UP DEAD PERSON
Students chose a deceased person from the year 2011 that had made an impact, positive or negative, on our local/national/global world to do an illustration. The portrait will be done in Illustrator using the pen tool and ONLY 4 percentages of black - 0%, 30%, 70%, 100% to create the values, shadows, highlights of the persons face/shoulders. A write up about their contributions will also be done by the student - NO PLAGIARISM - that will be fit onto a 8.5x11 with the portrait to complete a full biographical page.

BUCKMINSTER FULLER - Colorization of Fuller
Students will learn how to colorize a black and white photograph ( one of Fuller) using the quick mask mode and adjustment layers in Photoshop. Each student will also have a photo of themselves and go 'somewhere' with Fuller: Kennywood, Rennaisance Festival, Daytona 500, on a carriage ride, etc...
The image, Fuller.jpg is the image to be used by the students.

LANDSCAPE
In Appleworks, students will create a landscape that includes a minimum of 5 things you'd find in a landscape that would be appropriate for school. Ex. beach, medieval castle, coffee shop... FINISH UP by Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012

ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR
Students will be introduced to Adobe Illustrator, a state of the art illustration program use by designers. We will go over the tool bar, the menu bar and the functions of these to create detailed, intricate illustrations.
