READING:
Monday-Friday:
Students will complete the reading of their novel and complete the novel packet throughout the week. Students will complete a comprehension test on their novel by Friday.
LANGUAGE ARTS:
Monday-Friday:
Students will complete their futuristic paper. Students will have to address a business envelope as part of their grade. The paper has to be handwritten and be a minimum 2 full pages. The paper will be worth 50 points.
SCIENCE:

Students will complete quiz on Chapter 10.2- Relationships within Ecosystems.
After the quiz- students will define vocabulary words on page 332- Chapter 10.3.
Tuesday:
Students will complete academic warmup.

LANGUAGE ARTS:
Monday:
Students will be introduced to next process writing activity. Students will write a futuristic letter to themselves. The letter will focus on them graduating in the year 2018. They will write about their experience in 6th grade and the letter will be turned in and sealed in an envelope. The letter will be saved and sent to them when they graduate to their HS Language Arts teacher. The letter must be hand-written- not typed. The students will have a packet with an example. It will be worth 50 points- Two pages handwritten.

Students should have turned in the next 10 vocabulary words from their chapters.

Students will pick 10 Spelling words from their assigned novel and they must be approved by the teacher- They will have a quiz on these words on Thursday.

Students will review for test by discussing packet and by finding examples of correct usage of adjectives in the comparative/superlative degree by cutting out examples from magazines in the classroom and creating a collage. Students will share and discuss answers.- Test Tomorrrow.

Monday:
Students will write a journal/summary on the movie “Soul Surfer”. The focus will be on the theme of the movie- Perserverance.
Students will be introduced to novel project. Students will be allowed to choose a novel to read. Students will be placed in groups and they will be responsible for assigning the chapters to read, the homework, and choosing a group leader for the week. There will be teacher created quizzes/tests given periodically. There will be a group project at the end of the book.
Tuesday-Friday:
Novels and groups will be chosen. Novel groups will compile a vocabulary list. The definitions will be due no later than Thursday. Any homework assignments made by group leader will need to be approved by the teacher.

Students will be introduced to the next unit- Adverbs. Students will receive Adverb packet and focus on identifying adverbs and how they modify verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs. Students will complete pages 1-4 of the outline.

Students will complete Open Book Quiz on Titanic.
Students will work on writing/typing paper in the computer lab. The paper will focus on being a passenger on the Titanic and writing down events that the passenger witnessed on board. Students will have the guideline to refer to during the writing and may also do research on their assigned passenger. They may add that information into their paper. The papers are due on Wednesday.
Tuesday:
Students will continue with the Titanic process writing.

Students will hand in their papers and share with class. The paper is worth 50 points.

Students will view a grammar video and will look to identify the incorrect grammar in the video. They will work through a grammar packet for National Grammar Month.
