Welcome back to a wonderful school year!
Please note: All students are asked to bring a pencil to class everyday.

7th Grade
Students will continue observation drawings of birds.
Students will focus on shading techniques such as blending hatching and cross-hatching with pencil.
Students will be able to draw at least 3 realistic birds with pencil by using observational and shading skills.
Students will use copies of original drawings to experiment with colored pencils, watercolors, stippling, and mixed media compositions.
Students will create individual portfolios of drawings/paintings of birds.
Students will be able to discuss individual works by reviewing steps to a successful critique.
8th Grade
Students will continue at various stages of three-dimensional heads.
Students will concentrate on craftsmanship and likeness to characters chosen.
When finished and sculpture dry, students will apply 1-2 layers of Mod Podge for a clear gloss finish.
14-18 May 2011
7th Grade
Students will continue observation drawings of birds.
Students will focus on shading techniques, multi-media, stippling, and painting with acrylics/watercolors.
8th Grade
Students will continue at various stages of constructing 3D heads.
Students will focus on craftsmanship, texture, balance of their forms.
