PENN-TRAFFORD ALL DISTRICT ELEMENTARY BAND CONCERT
The concert was a success. All of the students played very well and were well behaved during the rehearsals and concert.
It was one of the best all-district elementary band concerts to date!!

PENN-TRAFFORD SUMMER INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC CAMP
A new band program will be offered to all band students starting July 23rd and ending July 27th.
It will be held at PTHS. The cost is $35.00
Information packets are being distributed to all band students Grades 4-8 this week, May 15-18.

TRAFFORD MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND SCHEDULES for the 2011--2012 School Year are as follows:

The 6th Grade Band rehearses during 4th period Monday -- Friday.

The 7th Grade Band rehearses during 2nd and 3rd periods Monday -- Friday.Some 7th grade students will rehearse
2nd period and others will rehearse with the 8th grade band students.
The 8th Grade Band rehearses during 3rd period Monday -- Friday.
Jazz Band--Rehearsal will be during all 3 band periods on Fridays. Students will be chosen to play in the jazz band
according to their ability and their behavior/cooperation (rehearsal discipline.) Jazz band is open to all students from all 3 grades.

6th/7th/8th Grade Band Students who are are in Chorus will be able to participate and rehearse with their chorus during the
same class period as band. Those schedules have not been established at this time.

COMBINED TMS BANDS' BOWLING PARTY 2:
DATE: APRIL 13TH
The Party was a successful event. All band members in attendance had a fun time.
Thanks go to all the parents who stayed for the party.

SPRING TMS BAND CONCERT:
MAY 10th
Concert was one of the best at TMS!! Excellent job, Band!!

8TH GRADE BAND MEMBERS' ONE DAY FIELD TRIP:
DATE: MAY 14TH.
DESTINATION: HEINZ HALL AND DUQUESNE UNIVERSITY
This trip was a success. The students and chaperones really enjoyed touring Heinz Hall and Duqesne University.
The Heinz Hall and Duquesne University officials commented on the students' excellent behavior. .

TRAFFORD MEMORIAL DAY PERFORMANCE: NOTE: NEW LOCATION!!!
MAY 28TH...TRAFFORD AMERICAN LODGE PARKING LOT ON CAVIT AVENUE .......11:00 AM.
All TMS band students are encouraged to participate in this event even though these isn't school that day.

2012-2013 Band forms have been distributed to all 5th, 6th, and 7th grade band students.
Please fill them out and have your children return them to Mr. Abraham. These forms are needed for scheduling purposes at
TMS. Thank you.

ATTENTION TMS BAND PARENTS:

Concert attire for all school performances which includes spring band concert, 8th grade field trip and Memorial Day performance.

Dress clothes for boys and girls.
Boys must wear Ties. This is a TMS tradition!!

All TMS Band students attended an assembly on April 12th at TMS from 10:00 AM--11:00PM
The guests were members of the Pittsburgh Symphony. PMS students will also attend this
assembly.
The students enjoyed this assembly very much. The Symphony members were very friendly and adapted to the middle school
students.
